Mr. Michael Wang
Springpower International Inc., Canada

Mr. Michael Wang is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Springpower International Inc. (www.springpowerintl.com). He has worked in management and marketing for 13 years and direct involvement in battery material and battery systems for 9 years. Mr. Wang received his Master degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology in 1997. Mr. Wang received his second Master degree in Business Administration from University of International Business and Economics in 2002. Mr. Wang started his professional career in the largest NdFeB material producer in China with responsibilities of R&D, production, QA, and sales in the period of 1997-2001. Later in 2001, Michael joined Inco China Division as a Marketing Manager for battery and energy materials.

  In the period of 2005-2008, he was assigned to Inco HQ in Toronto as the Segment Leader for Li-ion battery material development, responsible for strategy, marketing and business development. He established close relationship with battery makers including Sanyo, Sony, LG, SDI, BYD, SAFT etc. across the globe. His strength in marketing, management, and leadership contributed to the decision of the company to invest in Port Colborn, Ontario to build a pilot plant for Li-ion cathode material production in 2007. In 2008, he was assigned to Vale Inco China as a Director of Marketing in battery and energy materials. In 2009, Mr. Wang joined HongKong Highpower Technology Co., Ltd. as the Senior Vice President and also served as the General Manager of Marketing Center. He was also in charge of Highpower America, Inc. that is responsible for HEV/EV battery development and investment in NA to serve the local market. Mr. Wang’s Springpower International Inc (SPI) is now focusing on development and commercialization of graphene and silicon nanomaterials for lithium ion batteries.

Mr. Jian Shi
Aoxin New Energy Company, China

Mr. Jian Shi is the Chief-Executive Officer and Senior Economist at Aoxin New Energy Company, China. He obtained his Master degree in economics from Huazhong Normal University, Wuhan, China. He has strong experience in the management of automobile industry. His fruitful working experience in working at China's second car plant and Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. has lead him to being great successful in establishing this Aoxin company for research, development, manufacture and sale of pure electric and mixed electric automobiles.

Mr. Binglun Tian is a Founder and Board Chairman of Pearl Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd, a leading company providing specialized & High-performing air-cooling self-humidified PEM fuel cell stacks for clean power applications. Mr. Tian is a Chief Engineer with strong background of PEM fuel cells. He has 15 years of experience, particularly in both small and large scaled PEM fuel cell stacks and systems.

Dr. Liyu Li
UniEnergy Technologies (UET), USA

Dr. Liyu Li co-founded UniEnergy Technologies (UET) in 2012, and currently serves as Chief Technology Officer of the company. UET has missions to commercialize a new generation vanadium redox flow batteries (VFRB) he invented as the lead scientist in 2010, and provide energy storage solutions for the ever increasing adoption of renewable powers and implementation of smart, reliable grids. Before co-founding UET, he was a chief scientist, a project manager and a lead principal investigator at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) of the US Department of Energy (DOE). He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from China Institute of Atomic Energy in 1995, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Chemistry from Peking University, China, in 1989.

  Dr. Li’s major scientific contributions to the electrical energy storage area include: (1) invented the Advanced All Vanadium Redox Flow Battery system (US 8,628,880) which is under commercialization process by three US companies including UET; (2) invented the Iron-Vanadium Redox Flow Battery system (US 8,771,856) which is under commercialization process by a US company. His efforts in inventing and commercializing the advanced vanadium redox flow battery won him the 2013 Award of Excellence in Technology Transfer by the Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC), one of the most prestigious US government awards on technology development and commercialization.

Dr. Junbing Yang
California Lithium Battery, Inc., USA

Dr. Junbing Yang is the Chief Technology Officer of California Lithium Battery, Inc. Dr. Yang has a Ph.D. in Chemical Technology from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2000. After spending several years at Tsinghua University (China), INRS-Energy-Materials-Telecommunications (Canada) and the University of Akron (Ohio, US), he joined Argonne National Laboratory as a postdoctoral appointee in 2004 and was promoted to Assistant Chemist in 2007 and then Chemist in 2010. He joined California Lithium Battery as its CTO in 2013, with the focus on commercializing the high energy silicon composite anode for lithium batteries, which the company licensed from Argonne National Laboratory and he co-invented. Over the past 20 years Dr. Yang has gained extensive experience in materials sciences, chemistry, electrochemistry and nanotechnology.

  He has worked on many projects in batteries, fuel cells and hydrogen storage, and served as the inventor, principal investigator and project leader of the silicon composite anode for high energy lithium batteries at Argonne National Laboratory. His innovative research have led to many grants from US DOE EERE and BES office, ARPA-E, Argonne’s Laboratory Directed Research and Development program, and The National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has authored and co-authored over 40 articles in refereed-journals (e.g. J. Am. Chem. Soc., Adv. Ener. Mat., Carbon et al.), and has 12 patent and patent applications in these related fields.

Dr. Harris (Quanmin) Yang
Springpower International Inc., Canada

Dr. Harris (Quanmin) Yang, President of Springpower International Inc. at Mississauga, Canada, received his Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnic University in Xian, China in 1989. He started his career at the same year in electrochemical materials as a postdoctoral fellow and then Assistant Professor at Zhejiang University in 1989. He continued his work in NiMH battery materials as a research associate at McGill University in 1992. Two years later Dr. Yang travelled to Germany in 1994 as an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow at Gottingen University until 1996. After that he returned to McGill and then joined Inco Limited a year later in 1997. He worked at Inco as a Senior Scientist and later the technology Manager responsible for battery and energy materials. In 2010, Dr. Yang co-funded Springpower International Inc. with two his partners, dedicating to development and commercialization of advanced lithium-ion battery materials.

  Starting from 1989 to 1996, Dr. Yang worked on materials for NiMH batteries and NiCad batteries in Zhejiang University of China, McGill University of Canada and Gottingen University of Germany, respectively. During this period, he co-developed and patented a metal hydride material and initiated an international commercialization effort with GfE of Germany and Energizer of USA for its application in NiMH batteries. In 1997, Dr. Yang joined the battery and energy Materials group of then Inco Limited, now Vale Canada limited. As a Senior Researcher, Group Leader, and Manager, he supervised the Sections of Battery, EMI and PM Materials at the company’s corporate research and engineering center in Toronto area. In the period working at Inco, Dr. Yang conducted R&D and managed projects for various battery and energy materials including nickel hydroxide, nickel powder, nickel foam, cobalt based and nickel based cathode materials for Li-ion batteries, metallic and oxide materials for solid oxide fuel cells, PEM fuel cells, and supercapacitors. In those projects Dr. Yang was involved in R&D, engineering, commercialization, project management, and intensive interactions with battery manufacturers worldwide. In his co-founded Springpower International Inc. in Ontario, Canada, he is focusing on development and commercialization of graphene and silicon nanomaterials for lithium ion batteries. The company has made major breakthroughs in recent years in Mass Production Technologies for silicon nanowires and silicon nanoparticles. Dr. Yang co-authored a number of patents, patent applications and technical articles in battery materials and fuel cells.

Dr. Daoming Sun
LiCeram Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., China

Dr. Daoming Sun is Chief Execute Officer and Co-Founder of LiCeram Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. He eared Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Xi’an University of Technology, the master’s Degree in Materials Physics and Chemistry form Henan University of Science and Technology, and the Ph.D. in Physical Electronics from the Fudan University. Prior to establishment of LiCeram in 2011, he was a Research Staff Member at the Oceans King Lighting Science and Technology Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen.

  His research interests are in electrochemical sensing technology and advanced energy materials. Dr. Sun worked as team leader at LiCeram, he has successfully developed novel high sensitive sensor series that detects time of wetness (TOW) for corrosion evaluation of metal. He received the "Leading talent award" from the Wuzhong district in 2011, and won “Best team” at the 3rd Business Plan Competition of Suzhou in 2011, and the “Best youth award” at Mudu town in 2015.

Dr. Xueyuan (John) Zhang
Gamry Instruments Inc., USA

Dr. Xueyuan (John) Zhang is working in Gamry Instruments Inc. as a material engineer/Senior instrumentation specialist and General Manager in Gamry Shanghai, respectively. His present interests are focused on innovation and development of cutting-edge electrochemical techniques and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy used in electrochemistry field relating to battery, fuel cell, solar cell, corrosion, coating and so on. Dr. Xueyuan Zhang obtained his PhD at Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Science and Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, and then a postdoctoral fellow at University of California at Berkeley.

  In his professional career, he has ever held a research scientist position at Western University (University of Western Ontario) in Canada, Associate Professor at Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Science, and Adjunct Professor at Hunan University. He has ever supervised PhD graduates in electrochemistry and corrosion field. He also acts as the symposium chairs at international conferences relating to electrochemistry, corrosion and materials. He has published over 80 refereed journal articles, 20 conference proceedings papers, two books in Chinese and two translations books. In 2014, he was involved in the translation of the following book into Chinese, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy by Mark E. Orazem and Bernard Tribollet, which was published by Chemical industry press in China.

MR. Edward Huang
GUANDDONG HYDROGEN ENERGY SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CO. LTD., Canada

MR. Edward Huang has received his B.S from University of Science and Technology of China, and his Master Degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He served as the CEO of GUANDONG HYDROGEN ENERGY SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (GHEST), a leading company in fuel cell and hydrogen application. He has work experiences in Ballard Power System, a leading Canadian company in fuel cell industry. By using the Unit Cell Model, he analyzed the experiment data to provide the trend prediction on how the system operation on optimization parameters. Mr. Edward Huang served as Vice President in Lisun Test Co., Ltd., in fuel cell integrated and testing.

  From 2008, Mr. Edward Huang served as Vice President and Director of Fuel Cell of NBT Cooperative Company, a leading company in Lithium Ion and Fuel cell system integration area, and has developed varieties of fuel cell test station from 100w to 150 KW and fuel cell types in PEM, SOFC, and DMFC.
Mr. Edward Huang is the member of National Fuel Cell Standard Committee of China.
