Professor Lei Zhang has been elected among 57 new Fellows into the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), announced by CAE president Catherine Karakatsanis on May 15, 2025.

Dr. Lei Zhang is a Senior Research Officer, National Research Council Canada. She has made remarkable strides in advancing clean energy technologies focused on achieving zero/low emissions. By overseeing numerous high-profile collaborative projects, she has directly contributed to meeting both industry and societal needs in clean energy applications. She is consistently ranked among the Top 2% of Most-Cited World Scientists (career-long achievement in 2024) by the Stanford study. She was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (2017) and a Fellow of Industry Academy of the International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance (2024).
